Flags have been lowered at municipal facilities in Mississippi Mills Tuesday, April 9, 2024 in honour of the National Day of Remembrance of the Battle of Vimy Ridge. On Easter Monday in 1917, the four divisions of the Canadian Corps fought together for the first time.

In the last few weeks, the Mississippi Mills Fire Department has responded to six grass/structure fires, five of which ignited from discarded ashes. Many people don’t realize the length of time required for ashes to cool enough for disposal.
The Mississippi Mills Fire Department has lifted the total burn ban for the Municipality, effective Friday, April 5, 2024. Burn Level Status is currently set at Level 1, which means conditions are optimal for burning.
